Sharon Jayson, author of, “Who’s Feeling Stressed? Young Adults, New Survey Shows”, claims that stress levels of Americans have taken a downward turn across the United States…except for young adults. Young adults ranging from eighteen to thirty years of age are plenty of stressed, and it is not letting up. 39% of young adults say their stress has increased in the past year, while 52% of young adults say stress has kept them awake at night (Jayson para. 2) Shockingly, more than any other age group, young adults are being told by a health care provider they have either depression or an anxiety disorder. It’s clear that stress has become a widespread issue, however it is coping with stress that is crucial. Every individual handles their stress differently, however dance has proven to relieve stress and help release emotions.
